Les Gets (15mins)
18 holes, par 70 (5264 m)
Designed by Olivier Dongradi.

Situated on the Chavannes ridge it occupies a trully stunning location. A fairly technical course with some big elevation changes on some holes.

Open 10 June - 15 October
Fees from €25 for 9 holes, €35 for 18 holes. €130 for six green fees.
Electric buggies for hire from €9

Avoriaz (15mins)
9 holes, par 36 (2930m)
Designed by Hughes Lambert.

Situated on the Proclou plateau it is a fairly relaxing golf course to play. There are no buggies available, but the course is undulating rather than hilly, and nowhere too steep to pull a trolley or carry. Because of the altitude you still need to be reasonably fit, but the demands are not excessive.

It is enjoyable for all standards of golfer, but the generous fairways will perhaps make it most attractive for mid and high handicappers.

Fees from €25 for 9 holes, €112 for six days

around morzine

Morzine Town
During the summer the pretty town of Morzine is very much alive. You can spend a leisurely afternoon wandering around the shops and boutiques and take a well earned rest in the sun with a cold beer. The summer is when the tables of the cafes and bars spill out on to the pavements to make the most of the weather. There are plenty of restaurants in which to enjoy a traditional Savoyard lunch whilst taking in the views of the surrounding mountains. Or why not have a mountain lunch? Just take a short cable car journey from the centre of town and you will find yourselves at the top of either Pleney or Super Morzine. From town you can walk along the fast running Dranse river valley or up to see the Nyon Cascades. Take a tour of the local cheese making factory or the slate mines.

Lake Montriond
This breathtaking lake is just a 10mins bus or car journey away from the centre of Morzine town and is a must for the summer visitor. Nestled into the Ardent valley and fed by waterfalls and streams it is the perfect picnic spot. Over 1300m long and surrounded by mountains you can lie in the sun and take in the views of Le Roc d'Enfer. A walking track circumnavigates the lake and you can swim in the main lake and the smaller monitored bathing area. There are walking tracks from the lake that take you on a climb up into Les Linderets where you can discover the hidden lake. During August it hosts an amazing fireworks and music extravaganza - Feu du Lac. (Date tbc)
